Frequently asked questions

What can I actually use a QR code for as a freelancer?
Plenty. Drop one on an invoice that points straight at your payment link, put one on a business card or portfolio one-pager that opens your booking page, or stick one in a slide deck linking to your case studies. Anywhere a client has your work on paper or screen but not in their browser, a QR code closes the gap in one tap.
Should I download the PNG or the SVG?
Use the SVG for anything printed — invoices, posters, business cards — because it stays razor-sharp at any size. Use the PNG when a tool only accepts images, like a social post, an email signature or a slide. Both encode exactly the same data, so a code that scans in one will scan in the other.
What do the error-correction levels mean?
Error correction lets a code still scan when part of it is smudged, printed small or partly covered. Low (L) packs the most data into the smallest code; High (H) survives the most damage but makes the code denser. Medium (M) is a sensible default; bump it up if the code will be printed small or might get scuffed, and down if your link is long and the code looks too busy.
Is anything sent to a server, and will the codes keep working?
No. The code is built entirely in your browser — your text never leaves your device, so it is fine for private payment links or draft URLs. And a QR code is just an offline encoding of whatever you typed; it has no expiry and no tracking. As long as the link or text inside it stays valid, the code works forever.
