Frequently asked questions
What is the Pomodoro technique?
Work in focused blocks — classically 25 minutes — then take a short break, and a longer break after every four blocks. The constraint is the point: knowing a break is coming makes it easier to ignore distractions and stay on the one task in front of you, which matters doubly when those minutes are billable.
Will it keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. The countdown is anchored to a real end time rather than ticking frame-by-frame, so it stays accurate even if the tab is in the background. A gentle chime and, if you allow it, a desktop notification let you know when a block ends.
Can I change the lengths?
Open the durations panel and set your own focus, short-break and long-break lengths. Some people prefer 50/10 for deep work or 15/3 for admin. Your settings and today's session count are remembered on this device.
Why track focus sessions?
Because "I worked all day" and "I did six focused blocks" are very different claims. Counting completed sessions turns vague busyness into something concrete — useful both for protecting your own time and for honestly estimating how long future work will take.
